Are there age restrictions for members? What are the ages of most members?
Members can be as young as 50 and no one is too old!  Currently members ages range from 51 to 99.  Most members are in their early 70s, but the average age is going down as more people from the Baby Boomer generation join.

Do I have to live in Beacon Hill to belong?
No, Beacon Hill Village services Beacon Hill, Back Bay, West End, and surrounding neighborhoods.

What is the cost for a Beacon Hill Village membership?
An individual membership is $600 a year.  A household membership is $850 a year.  Memberships last one year from the month you join

What is the Membership Plus Program?
The Membership Plus Program offers residents of moderate means the ability to enjoy the Beacon Hill Village benefits through a reduced membership rate and a credit towards programs and services. This program is generously funded through foundations and neighbors. Membership Plus members must be 60 years of age or older.

What is included in my membership fee?
Information and referral, grocery shopping, walking groups and exercise classes, member only events and programs, discounts to service providers, rides home from doctor prescribed procedures, and much more. 

If there is an emergency, how do you help?
During a medical emergency members should call 911 or their doctor.  Beacon Hill Village members have preferred access at MGH Senior Health Medical Practice. After hours you can call HouseWorks at 617-928-1010 for homecare assistance.

BHV is planning for the future.  It is a form of insurance for you and your family.  The time may come, perhaps suddenly, when you will need help in your home and being part of the Village gives you security, and enables you to have anything you need when you need it.  Also, the Village’s younger members join for the concierge services, vendor discounts, fabulous programs and trips, and Beacon Hill Village even provides geriatric care management for you or your elder anywhere across the country.                                                                   
What if I need something that is not on the list or provided services?
Call Beacon Hill Village for anything and everything.   We will work with you to find a solution, from a ride, to skiing, to finding a caterer for a party, to homecare services.  Call us. 

Can I buy my parents a membership?
Yes, giving your parents the means to continue living in their own home is a wonderful gift.  You will be happy knowing that your parents are safe and taken care of; and they will enjoy living independently in their own home…in the neighborhood they love.
