Join BHV member Joan Doucette for a self-guided visit to Franklin Park Zoo. Zoos have evolved significantly over the years. Many, including Franklin Park Zoo are now institutions for conservation, education, research, and species survival for animals in their careoften resulting in increased survival in the wild. Animals can be seen in exhibits that mimic their native habitats where they get physical and mental enrichment, in addition to top-notch medical care. While there are some benches at a few of the exhibits, please expect to be on your feet for the duration. Bring a brown bag lunch, sunscreen, water, a hat, and lightweight binoculars if you have them. Transportation is on your own; parking is available. Joan and John will be taking the Orange Line and then a bus (options are number 22, 28, 29, and 45) from the Ruggles T stop. If you would like to join them in taking public transportation please email Joan here to let her know. Otherwise, meet promptly at the main (Zebra) entrance near Circuit Drive and Blue Hill Ave at 11:00 a.m. Entry fee of $20.95 for seniors is pay individually at the booth. BHV members and their guests.
