Join BHV members Davida Carvin and MJ Shultz for a Walk across the Charles River locks and along the Charlestown waterfront past Old Ironsides, through the Navy Yard and on to the gardens and playground at Spaulding Hospital. The Wind on Water wind sculptures by Lyman Whittaker are still on display along our route, and there are very informative historical signs. This walk will be approximately 3 miles, with a break at the 3/4 mark for lunch on the waterfront before returning on the Charlestown ferry to Long Wharf (Senior rate $1.85). Water taxi stop 48 is available for anyone who would like to shorten the walk or opt out of lunch.
At 10:30 a.m. meet at the patio sitting area in front of 226 Causeway St., at the corner of North Beverly St. & Causeway. Find the group in the patio sitting outside the front door of the former TripAdvisor office on Causeway, opposite the Marriott Courtyard Hotel.
