Bill will show slides of the trip he and Ron took in May, 2017, first to Venice and then on a Road Scholar tour to Slovenia, Croatia and Montenegro. Bill will discuss how the Venetians developed the Dalmatian coast resulting in the lucrative trade that created the treasure city of Venice. After visiting Lake Bled and Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, they traveled down the Dalmatian coast from Rijeka to Split and on to Dubrovnik on a 135' motorsailer. You will see the many islands with their fortresses, churches and towns as well as their nature preserves, the prison camp where Tito kept dissidents during his rule of Yugoslavia, and his vacation villa in Montenegro where the tour ended in Kotor Meet on Zoom.
