Join BHV member Joan Doucette for a self-guided visit to Franklin Park Zoo. 

Zoos have evolved significantly over the years. Many, including Franklin Park Zoo are now institutions for conservation, education, research, and species survival for animals in their care
often resulting in increased survival in the wild. Animals can be seen in exhibits that mimic their native habitats where they get physical and mental enrichment, in addition to top-notch medical care.

While there are some benches at a few of the exhibits, please expect to be on your feet for the duration. Bring a brown bag lunch, sunscreen, water, a hat, and lightweight binoculars if you have them

Joan at the Orange Line's Forest Hills T stop, promptly at 10:30. From Forest Hills, we will catch the number 22 bus to Zoo entrance.

You may email Joan here if you would like to coordinate riding the T together.

If you plan to drive on your own (parking is available), meet 
promptly at the main (Zebra) entrance near Circuit Drive and Blue Hill Ave at 11:00 a.m. and look for the T riders.

Entry fee of $20.95 for seniors is pay individually at the booth. MBTA fares are pay individually. BHV members and their guests.

Riders are no longer required to wear a mask while on the T. The MBTA continues to follow CDC guidelines in encouraging people to wear face masks on public transit.
