Boston History:  Four Centuries in 40 Minutes

How has Boston not only survived over four centuries, but prospered? Explore the ups and downs of the city's history, from its beginnings in 1630, through the American Revolution, the Industrial Revolution, and the 20th-century decline and revival. How did Boston become a center for so many political, social, religious, and economic movements?

Robert Allison, Professor of History at Suffolk University, author of A Short History of Boston (on Amazon here) and other books, will lead us in this discussion.

Meet at Suffolk University, Stahl Center, 73 Tremont Street, Room 5055 (fifth floor). BHV members, their guests, and prospective members are welcome. Free.
