Please join us for to support our partners- FriendshipWorks at their 8th Annual
Walk to End Elder Isolation
around Boston’s beautiful Jamaica Pond. New to their Walk this year is a special Elderbration component, to honor and celebrate older adults with food, live music, cultural performances, and fun...
FriendshipWorks
’ mission is to reduce social isolation, enhance the quality of life, and preserve the dignity of older adults in Greater Boston. They have more than three decades of experience recruiting, training, and placing volunteers to provide support and assistance to elders. They serve older adults, 60+ years of age (or 55+ if have vision/hearing loss) by matching them with volunteers for friendship and assistance. Friendship Works also has Spanish-speaking staff and can often match in a variety of languages. These services are at NO cost. FriendshipWorks service areas include all of Boston, Brookline, Newton, Somerville, and Cambridge.
BHV will sponsor the walk this year and we are appealing to all members and friends to join us, too. BHV hopes to organize a walking team for this community event which supports the work of this wonderful organization.
