With Walks! leaders Irene Kochevar and MJ Shultz we will enjoy a ferry ride across the harbor. After landing we can briefly revisit the harbor side sculptures, but we will leave the Navy Yard directly and cross into Charlestown itself. First point of interest is the Training Field. From there to Harvard Mall with fascinating plaques to read if you wish and on to other streets that highlight the historical character of this neighborhood. We will end our stroll at Dovetail back in the Navy Yard.

Meet at 10:15 a.m. at the dock between the Long Wharf Marriott and the Aquarium. We will take the 10:30 ferry to Charlestown so you must be prompt; the ferry doesn’t wait. Tickets, bought onboard, cost $3.70 for the round trip, though there are alternatives for the return. If you wish to leave that part open, simply purchase a one-way, $1.85 ticket. If you’ll be late or absent, please call either the leaders or the office.

There will be an option to join for lunch afterwards.

Access: This BHV Walks! is a stroll which moves at an easier pace including rest stops. It does involve about one hour of walking with the group.

Announcements will be made by email in case of inclement weather. Free. Registration is required for BHV members and their guests. Masks are currently voluntary. Bring water, wear sun protection.
