Jen runs her own studio in VT and has been teaching yoga for 8 years. Jen started teaching yoga full time after her first teacher training when she finally realized, at age 50, what she was supposed to be when she grew up. She teaches a gentle, contemplative style of yoga intended to create a sense of wholeness within.
This class will include gentle stretching and strengthening movement that is choreographed using the breath as the origin of movement. This style of yoga is designed to increase responsiveness and resilience in the body and to cultivate the mind-body connection.
A regular yoga practice can help increase and maintain range of motion, balance, and core strength as well as peace of mind and reduction of anxiety and depression. Class will include standing, seated, and floor work using supine, and prone poses. Adaptations and modifications will be shared as needed.
For this class, it is helpful to have:
A quiet place with space to move around where you will not be disturbed
A yoga mat or rug to practice on
A few blankets/towels and a few pillows (firm and/or soft) for sitting up on and/or supporting joints in poses
A few blocks or block substitutes (i.e. books of the same height) to support you in standing poses
A wall, chair or other support for balance
A bottle of water
