Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update #2
March 10, 2020
Dear Beacon Hill Village Members,
We understand this is a stressful time for everyone during the coronavirus outbreak and we will do our best to provide you with meaningful updates. Because this is a rapidly changing situation, we will be providing updates as required based on information received from the public health experts.
We recommend these trusted websites for up-to-date information:
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
World Health Organization: https://www.who.int/
Massachusetts Department of Public Health: https://www.mass.gov/resource/information-on-the-outbreak-of-coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19
Boston Public Health Commission: https://www.bphc.org/whatwedo/infectious-diseases/Infectious-Diseases-A-to-Z/Pages/2019-Novel-Corona

As of today, Beacon Hill Village plans to continue all events and programs as scheduled. Our present understanding is that the risk of community transmission of coronavirus in Boston is low; however, we rely on many partners and their venues to hold our events and it is possible that program cancellations will occur that are out of our control.
If we do change or cancel an event based on our assessment of the publicly available information, we will notify everyone who has registered at least 48 hours in advance or as soon as is reasonably possible. We will also be updating our calendar of events on the website. Please continue to register and join our events as you are able and comfortable.
In response to the health concerns of virus transmission, we will make every effort to have tissues and hand sanitizer available at our events and programs and will check with our public venues regarding their own health-related policies.
We ask members and non-members to refrain from attending an event or program if you are sick and experiencing symptoms of the flu or virus. As well, we ask that if you have a chronic health conditions to rely on common sense strategies and practice ’social distancing’ just as you would with the flu. This is the current recommendation from Dr. Fauci at the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Disease.
If you have any questions about your own health, please consult with your primary care physician.
If you have questions regarding our programs or events, please call the office at 617-723-9713 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
