Dear Village Members,
The Board of Directors of Beacon Hill Village is pleased to announce the election of Allan Hodges as President starting July 1, 2020. Allan will succeed Doug Fitzsimmons who will be completing his two-year term as President on June 30, 2020. BHV is thankful for the leadership and vision Doug has provided to the Village during the past two years and in particular to the attention and focus he demonstrated during the transition of the Executive Director in 2019 and the Village response to the COVID-19 crisis in 2020. "We wish him the best as he steps down from this leadership role, but look forward to his engagement in Village events and programs," says Hal Carroll, Chair of the Governance/Nominating Committee.
Allan Hodges joined the Board of Directors earlier in 2020 and is pleased and honored to assume the role as President. Allan says, "I think the future of Beacon Hill Village is bright since the central idea is solid and needed - aging in place (in your own home that you love) and having fun doing it. It is a sensible and easier alternative for active older adults than potentially moving to continuing care communities. I am looking forward to working with the board to get the word out about the village and grow our membership. I also think the programs and services of the Village can be expanded even further beyond Beacon Hill to other areas in our catchment area such as Back Bay, the West End, the South End, Downtown and the North End/Waterfront."
Welcome Allan, we look forward to collaborating with you on the continuing success of the Village.
